FACTS ABOUT ANDROID

ANDROID is an open source mobile phone operating system owned by Alphabet Inc.( formerly Google Inc.). Android is one of those many fascinating ideas which marked a milestone in Google's path to success.

But android back then wasn't what it is now.

"Infant Google never created Android."

**Android was founded in 2003 by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White.

Google acquired the OS from them and together with the help of the "Fantastic Four" created the first version of Android OS.

** Alphabetical order resembling dessert names ~~ Google's extraordinary style for launching New versions of Android, doesn't hold true for versions 1 and 1.1.

#Android 1-- Android Alpha
#Android 1.1 --Android Petit four (coincidentally resembles a dessert name - may be a baseline for the idea of naming Android according to dessert names)

Then starts the journey of the Android's Current naming Pattern with the launch of Android 1.5(Cupcake).

** First ever Android phone launched resembled BlackBerry interface.
T- mobile launched the first touch screen Android phone ( surprisingly it didn't have a virtual keyboard and 3.5mm jack).

** Today android dominates over all other mobile OS (above 85% ), this is purely contrary to what was predicted back then for Android just after its launch.

** Last but not the least, "The rise of Android  can be considered homologous to The chronological order of human evolution". :-D
